I highly doubt this will get many notes, if any at all since it’s not one of those “perfect” animal photos that seem to be on tumblr. But, i’m postin’ it anyway with a lil’ story about these two horses.

Their names are Leo(left) and Jazzy(right). They’re two of the older horses we have at the barn. Leo was a rescue from Florida in 2007, when we first got him he could barely make it around the indoor arena without running out of breath. Jazzy had a foal who had just been weaned from ‘er, so she was dealing with separation We put these to together and she took Leo under ‘er wing, so to speak. They have been inseparable ever since. They can be separated for a total of 5 minutes and when they are reunited, they act like it’s been 5 years. Always greet each other with a “kiss”, like pictured above. They do it randomly when they’re together as well. I know it’s not possible for horses to be “in love”, but I swear these two are. They are both up there in age, Leo’s pushing 40 accordin’ to the vet and probably won’t be around much longer, which we are well aware that means Jazzy will end up passing away too soon after given the bond they have.

I know it’s probably silly to say, but the bond they share is unlike anythin’ I’ve ever seen between two horses & I’ve been around them literally all my life. I truly think they do love each other.

As most of you are aware, the Ohio bull riding community lost one of its own last night with the passing of Caleb Tinsman as a result of injuries sustained while competing at a bull riding event in Indiana. His bright smile, ability to make us laugh, and genuine love of the sport will always be remembered. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Daniel and the rest of his family and many friends during this difficult time..
